New Lecture Series Launches as Part of the BREATHE Project

On September 18, 2026, a new edition of the “Lecture Series for Ukraine” will be launched by the Research Center Borstel – Leibniz Lung Center and its Ukrainian partner institutions. The digital continuing education series is organized as part of the BREATHE project of the Hospital Partnerships and is aimed in particular at physicians and other healthcare professionals in Ukraine. The series seeks to maintain access to medical education and training despite the challenging conditions caused by the ongoing war, provide access to up-to-date medical knowledge, and at the same time strengthen continuous professional exchange between Ukrainian and international colleagues.

Following a lecture series on infectious diseases held during the previous summer semester, the new series will now focus on current topics in pulmonology and respiratory medicine. Once again, numerous renowned international experts have been invited to contribute to the lectures on a voluntary basis, sharing their knowledge and experience with their Ukrainian colleagues.

Regular online sessions will provide a platform for discussing the latest findings in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary diseases.

The “Lecture Series for Ukraine” is part of the long-term collaboration with our partner institutions in Ukraine. It aims to facilitate continuous knowledge transfer despite the ongoing challenging conditions caused by the war, strengthen international networks, and promote professional exchange between Ukrainian and international colleagues.
